Tas Cru

Raucous, rowdy, gentle, sweet, eccentric, quirky, and outright irreverent are all words that fittingly describe Tas Cru’s songs and testify to his reputation as a one of the most unique of bluesmen plying his trade today. His current album, “You Keep the Money,” released December 30, 2014, has been either at or near the very top of several major blues airplay charts since mid-January. It actually debuted at # 1on the Roots Music Report and eight of its 12 songs have been in the top 25. Tas Cru also gives generously of his time to our “Blues in Schools” effort, where he is cultivating the next generation of blues musicians.

Chicago Blues Connection

The Chicago Blues Connection (est. 2013), founded by Jay Moynihan is a hard driving Southside-Blues/Jazz with a rock edge, and the improvisational prowess of a jam band, featuring members of the Buddy Guy Blues Band and local sensation Dive House Union. Other band members are: Ray Barry (Guitar, Vocals), Paul Yates (Bass), and Shannon Street (Dive House Union, Drums).

Dan Sturner’s In The Pocket

“Dan Sturner’s In The Pocket” is a Blues/Rock/Jazz/New Orleans style band. Charismatic and high spirited, this band draws in and engages the audience. Growlers Blues Band

The Growlers Blues Band are based out of Buffalo, NY. The band delivers a powerful and unique blend of gutbucket blues, tempered with rock n roll sensibility. This tight ensemble is powered by Memphis-seasoned Dan Shurtleff on drums, fat, funky bass grooves by Steve Abbey, scorching guitar work by Rob Enderle, barrelhouse boogie-woogie keys by Larry King and Jon “Johnny Lew” Lewandowski’s gritty harmonica.

Tommy Z

Tommy Z is a contemporary blues guitarist/singer/songwriter/producer who has been described as a “blues treasure” by legendary 97 Rock/WBFO DJ Jim Santella, and “one of WNY’s best kept secrets” by Sarah French, Blues Matters Magazine. Though he is a guitar-driven electric blues-based stylist onstage, in the studio Tommy composes a variety of music. So while well experienced and studied in traditional blues, jazz and rock styles, Tommy is an artist who puts that soulful blues feeling into all the different styles he plays.

Junior Blues Showcase
